What do you get when you mix the scorching hot bushveld with that of a Winter Wonderland, complete with Eskimos a dash of snowflakes and a whole lot of snowy white feathers?
Well, The most beautiful and certainly most unique wedding of the decade, that’s what!
From the newspaper-like program handed to guests as they arrived at the ceremony and took their seats under a giant old acre tree on a serene farm “Phumula Rus” just outside Potgietersrus, to the guy dressed in a Scottish kilt playing his bag pipes as the bride’s two younger brothers marched her down the Isle to give her away to the man that by now could no longer wait to make her his – this wedding was both touching and incredibly extraordinary to capture.
When Janina, the country girl from Potties met Paul, the city guy from Pretoria, sparks flew and they immediately knew that this was it and that they were meant to spend the rest of their lives together. Proving that opposites truly do attract the bubbly Janina would jokingly tell us about the ‘broken road’ that’s led her here while a more quiet Paultjie will just stand back and smile at his beautiful wife no doubt thanking God for that broken road that’s led her straight to him.
